25,000 sq. ft. 2 Story Building remodel Phase I & II

CBS Local 2 News (A Gulf California Broadcast Company) planned to move one year ago from Palm Desert to a complete remodeled building in Thousand Palms. Orr Builders was contracted to remodel the 25,000 sq. ft. 2-Story building; this building now includes new staff, production, sales & marketing offices, conference rooms, a make-up room, a new master control room, new sales area for Kuna TV, two radio live studios, and a full size 1,560 sq. ft. brand new studio for live broadcast with the state-of-the-art steel grid ceiling system to hang spot lights for live broadcast and back up emergency power, in additional to the existing studio.

The most challenging part for Orr Builders was to get the job done in less than five months on a live broadcasting, full operational facility. Remodeling consisted of adding new and remodel new offices; the finishes are new carpet, Vision-Lite doors, motion sensor lighting switches, modification of master control consoles for new master control room, some walls and doors rated at SCT 40 for sound control, preparation for four new roof satellite dishes, and fresh coat of painting overall.

This remodeled facility will host the main broadcast TV signal for KESQ News Channel 3, CBS Local 2, Fox 11, CW 5, Telemundo 15, and will have a 24/7/365 Seismo 3 Earthquake Tracker.
